Most importantly of all, though, is the icing rule implemented this weekend. Here's how it works:
For example, rather than having to cross the center line before dumping the puck into the attacking zone, players must not wait until they cross their team's attacking blue line before dumping the puck in. The goal of this rule change? To force the puck carrier to "make a play" rather than taking the easy way out and dumping it in. With the primary goal of this camp being to develop these players, coaches and staff members have implemented this rule changes in the hopes of forcing the puck carrier to be more decisive and instinctive.
- Games will consist of two, 30-minute periods
